I installed the service pac 1 on my Toshiba Laptop 2405-
s201 and now my yamaha sound card driver is disabled by
windows xp home. I searched yamaha's web site and it
says to contact microsoft for the latest driver or try
service pac 1a. I checked the product list and it did
not address yamaha anything. I also tried to to go back
to the previous version. It worked but still does not
reconized the yamaha sound card. Any body out there
having the same problem with yamaha sound card?

Thanks
Chuck

One should only obtain drivers for laptop PCs from the manufacturer's
support website. There are several Windows XP drivers you should install.

This is a problem with just about all Yamaha based sound
cards and XP SP1 - and no-one wishes to help the end user
which is a shame. Both my XG 744 based card and my dads XG
724 no longer function on any of the latest drivers I've
found (generic Yamaha, AOpen and windows update drivers).
The joys of updates. Knowledge base:

I'll give you a shortened version - "we've trashed the
drivers with this update and we don't care, please splash
out more money on a new sound card"
