On my W2000 I have 3 sevices.exe and 1 SERVER.EXE - a total of 4.
In detail the situation is the following:
services.exe in C:\WINNT
22 KB
C:\WINNT\$NtServicesPackUninstall$ 87KB
C:\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\386
88KB
SERVICES.EXE in C:\WINNT\system32 88KB
Under the Windows Task Manager, SYSTEM.EXE is running as process but without
any notable charge on CPU (it show's 00) and almost no time
consumed.(00:00:01), after more than 30 minutes connection time.
My questions
1)why so many services.exe and why 3 with low and 1 with up carract., why
different sizes?
2)the one in WINNT asked to ZA (???after updating???) if it could access
the Internet. I denied and didn't notice any change in the behaviour of my
system. I supposed it was that one, because since I renamed it, there was no
longer an attempt to go outside. I neather found it as a process in the
Windows Task Manager.
3)Could it be that there is a trojan between them? But how to detect it? Nor
McAffee antivirus, nor ad-ware, nor Spyhunter detected something.
Would appreciate any help as I'am rather uncertain now.
Thanks
Fernand
