Server upgrade crash

Charles Kuchar

Upgrading to SP4, took a power failure. Reboot into BSOD. Including safe
mode. Emergency Repair with original 2000 server disk got system back up.
Properties show SP3 installed, add/remove programs shows SP4. I am going
through the remove SP4 cycle and have the options of either reinstalling SP4
or upgrading to W2k3. Any advice? or SP4 and then W2k3? This server is
also my ISASERVER firewall... charlie

Depends on the end goal here, if you want SP4 on the machine and thats it,
then I would recommend just reinstalling SP4. If your end goal is to have
2k3 then I would upgrade to it.

My personal preference would be to get the SP4 working.
I've seen rather too many issues in the newsgroups on W23
issues.

What's also on that machine? I would defenitly go for Win2003 due the kernel
changes and improved nat technologie , It works much better with ISA !
