Hello out there

I have inherited a domain on which I have very little history. I have tw
servers that each take about 15 minutes to shut down. They are not exchang
servers and are not running anything special. One of the server function
was not needed, so I properly removed it from the domain, formatted th
drives and installed Windows 2003. All goes well, until I have it join th
domain with the old server's name. At that point it takes about 15 min. t
shut down each time. Nothing elso but Win2003 is on the server. No role
have been given it yet

The server has nothing on it except Windows 2003. It is not running MS Exchange

What is doing this. It must be someting with the directory and mayb
something associated with that server's name? I suspect my other server ha
a simular problem. Is this a group policy thing? If it is where can I look for the problem

Can anyone offer help

Thanks in advance :-

Is it pointing to the correct DNS server for your internal domain......

Has the policy "clear the vitual memory pagefile on shutdown" been set to enabled? This can really increase shutdown time especially on servers with lots of RAM

Has the policy on "Shutdown: clear virtual memory pagefile on shutdown" been set to enabled?
