Is srvsvc.dll in your system32 folder?

Start | Run | Type: system32 | Click OK |
Look for srvsvc.dll

%SystemRoot%\System32\srvsvc.dll

Is srvsvc.dll anywhere on your machine at all

Do a Search. See this.

Additional info: For others who are facing this problem.

Also check if the following file is present.

Hi Ramesh,

I should've spent my time searching your site instead. ;-)

Just made a shortcut. I'll read the whole thing later.

Hi Wes,

When you read the article, you'll see a comment saying "srvsvc.dll does exist". I've received many such comments, and decided to research on this issue deeper. At last I realized that the driver file is also a vital component of this service, without which the error 126 is shown when starting the service. There may be other causes as well ;-)
