I have been editing a frontpage site (hosted locally) on our SBS 2003 server
for months without any problems.

Out of nowhere, I now receive the message "Server Error: The server
extensions were unable to access the file".....then the path to the file I am
attempting to save. "Please check the file permissions"

No changes or edits can be saved.

I am the owner, administrator, member of administrators group and have now
added my username in Secirity for "full control".

I have tried every concievable approach to remedy this issue. It is drivijg
me absolutely crazy.

Any assistance is appreciated. Many thanks.

Steve

Make sure the file attributes are *not* set to "read only"

Steve:

I get the "marked as read only" error when trying to save (for instance)
index.htm.

When I check the props, "read only" is NOT checked

By any chance was this web "moved" from one machine to another by burning a copy to a CD and then
copying the CD to another machine.

If so, you will need to remove the "read only" attributes from the entire web.

I have a tool that will do it. If you need it email me at the address I use here with a valid
email address. and I'll send you a copy.
