Please can someone help me with this problem.
I have recently set-up a new PC with Windows XP Professional, MS Office XP
and FrontPage 2002. When I try to publish only changed pages I get the Error
message in the subject line above. If I change the publishing settings in
frontpage to Publish all pages the system will permit me to up load all of my
pages.

Our host is running an apache server with FrontPage 2000 Extensions, I have
asked them to reload the FP2000 extensions since my upgrade but this has not
helped at all.

My previous PC was running Windows 2000, Office 2000 premium but with
FrontPage 2002. This PC and an other on my network with an identical setup of
MS software can publish only changed pages as well as the whole site.

Is the problem one of compatibility between Office XP and Frontpage 2002 or
a server problem as implied by the Error message? How can I resolve this
problem.

Many thanks in anticipation of you kind help.

How did you move the web to the new machine? Did you publish it or did you copy it by some method,
such as to a CD, etc.?

The website is on a network drive, I simply connected throught the network to
the relevant folder and open the local copy of the web on my new PC.

Once I had changed a page I tried to publish it and it would not, coming up
with the Subject error. I then tried changing the parameter for publishing to
"publish all pages" and it worked (took 45mins though). Reset the parameter
to "publish changed pages only" and on attempting to publish I received the
same error message again.

I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Are you working with IIS at all on the network or just a folder that FP has made into a web?

Does the machine with this web have a user account with full permissions on the folder holding this
web?

We are not using IIS, simply a folder that FP has made into a web.

I have always been able to access all files in this folder with full admin'
rights, I am using the same logon on my new PC as my old PC although the
Computer Names are different on the network.
I can access all of the contents of the web folder and change, delete and
create pages on my new PC over our own network.

If I create a new page, amend an existing page or delete an existing page on
my new PC I can publish all of the changes if I publish the whole web
site/folder.

I can logon to my old PC and publish the full site and only changed pages.

I hope this helps

Network ID consist of the machine/userID, so if the new machine has a different name that could be
the problem.
