Server Error: _vti_cnf.

At the end of the publishing I receive the following error:

Server Error: cannot create folder "_vti_cnf".

What does this refer to and is it on the server side or the publishing side?

You need to contact your host to run a check on the extensions and/or the permissions for your
account.

I assume this is also creating the problem of having to log on with "user
name" and "password" in order to download files?
