Server Application Unavailable

Hi ,

I have an close to Clean installed 2003 Server Web with sp1 and
i have a critical problem regarding dotnet on that server.

I have tested many things.. but still .net will not work ..

I have tested new app pools and reinstalled upgraded to 2.0 beta
even removed everything again and installed 1.1. again.. still dotnet
will not work ..

I have googled about everything there is to google and all i find is
solutions that will not work for me with in those tons of people having
this problem and the only thing left for me is to reinstall iis.. but i have
300 sites
on this server and thats just not my happyest though to think about, as what
if this
happens to other servers i have.. .. so i call for help.. and realy hope
someone can
bring a ligt i can fallow here.

I default have all servers setup with scripts and they are all Exact alike
but this server
somehow has .net not working.

Default iis is setup with sysocmgr and permissions on c; are only system and
administrators
if thins somehow might be permission issue.

I have also have monitored a single site and on this server witch is exact
alike the last server
i can see this via filemon when lunching a .net test page..:

I dont understand why there are so many files not found on a default setup
...
... it just tels me something is verry wrong here.. ..

Did you check with the web server if it is running and the WWW Service?

Please also check if the virtual directory that you have created has been
created as an Application and is not just a folder. This you can make out
from the Windows Explorer.

I have 109 servers and about 35000 sites.. and many dotnet sites.. and they
are all with default
app dir on root.. but this conserns only this server at the moment.,
the whole server.. no matter it from root or vdirs .

But i did Format this server and recreated all 300 sites and everything got
perfect.. but
as i do on all my servers i remove unwanted users from c:\ root .. and it
has never given
any problems but only secures my servers.. but now when sp1 is installed and
i remove
those users.. fex. 'CREATOR_OWNER' '%computername%\users' and 'Everyone'
..net stops working.

Then to debug .. I add everyone:C ti c:\ and it still wont work. ..
reinstall .net -ir or
-u and then -i or -r or both .. it wont work..

Then i used the need tool from sysinternals ( netmon ) witch i use quite
often to see
what files it might have Access Denyed to.... and it gives this list i paste
in the bottom of this file
and this is an default server and this is from it´s own app pool and from an
test file.. doing just
about nothing... ( The log is below. )

This conserns me .. on e fresh install.. so i tryed to locate those files on
othere servers where .net is
working.. and those files are not there either.. .. ( strange thing ) .. why
should the .net framwork
try to use files not existing.. even when i only write an helo test.aspx
file..

I asume QUERY INFORMATION is to locate some form of info or status ..
but why not if exist.. then .. .. or just anything else than just creating
an error
and consern people.

I think the above could be the problem. ASPNet account requires the machine
account to impersonate anonymous access. But if you remove it then there is
no windows account for it to work with.
