My computer is doing the following:
It will turn on, but the screen will go black after anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours after it turns on,
After dying, it will not turn on again for a few hours. I press power and it the light comes on, but it doesn't fully turn on.
The Sound no longer works. I have scanned for viruses. Nothing.
A box comes up thats says it is missing "bridge.dll" from the system32 folder when it does start.
I ran system diagnostics and the hard drive failed the "confidence test." The result code was 0F00-1344. Whatever that means. (Do I need to reformat?)
I ran it in safe mode and imported a backupreg, but it didn't fully import it. I have no system restore data because I turned that function off months ago when I had a virus. (I was instructed to do so) I have downloaded the latest Updates for everything. I have a firewall. I am very, very frustrated. Dell's "customer care" (quotations because they dont really "care" and their service stinks) has not helped me. Any suggestions would be welcome, and you will receive very good karma.

Oh, I want good Karma!!! :o)

You have more issues than spyware. I would start here:

Power Supply, heat, dust, reseat your display card, try new power cables,
actually unplug the power cable for 10 seconds then plug it back in, does
the monitor light switch from green to orange instantly? If so, try another
graphics card or make sure that you have the exact drivers for your card.

Other options and checkpoints:

You can use Event Viewer to view and manage the event logs, gather
information about hardware and software problems, and monitor Windows
security events.

To view the event log: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or
Start/Run/eventvwr.

To review Shutdown Event Tracker data, Open Event Viewer. Click System Log,
scroll to the Event column, and find entries with the number 1075.

And also:

Go to Start/Run/Msinfo32/Hardware Resources, Components/Problem Devices and
Software Environment/Windows Error Reporting.

Go to Help and Support/Pick a Task (left side)/Use Tools to view.../(left
pane)My Computer Information/(right pane)View the status of my system
hardware and software/Hardware/Update and Troubleshooters.

Try running the DirectX Tool: Start/Run/Dxdiag, Lower Hardware Acceleration
(Display/Settings/Advanced/Troubleshoot/Hardware Acceleration). Check
System Info for problematic issues: Start/Run/Msinfo32/Hardware Resources
and Components/Problem Devices and Software Environment/Windows Error
Reporting.
