Every Folder on my computer is read-only. I can uncheck the box to make it
not read-only, but as soon as I apply and close the window, it changes right
back, automatically. I am the computer administrator. This is giving me
fits! SOMEBODY help, please. Thanks.

What you're seeing is the default behavior in Windows XP. It's
not a problem.

You might want to take a look at this article:

You Cannot View or Change the Read-Only or System Attribute of
Folders

How could it give you fits? The folder properties of every folder on XP
machines show this attribute.
