Help! In windows nt there is a facility in control panel
where you are able to setup the serial port to start at
boot. How can I make this happen in Windows 2000?
I need the serial port (com1) to communicate with a
smart card reader after the log on screen...
If any one has any bright ideas, please let me know!

Hi John!

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately when I select the
Serial Port Driver's properties, and change the startup
type to "Boot" and select "ok", I get an error message
saying "Unable to settings for Serial. The parameter is
incorrect", therefore not making Serial start at boot.

Any suggestions?

Try setting it to system, that's where it's supposed to start.

John
