Serial port mapping in emulater ???

O

Ole

Hi,

I've used the serial port mapper in the mobile device emulater with out any
problem - the first time but after restarting my PC I can't get it to work
anymore? There are no error messages but my application says that the port
is already opened. Same thing happens if I try to open the port from a
normal window application after closing the emulator. Any idea what could be
wrong?

Thanks,
Ole

Something is messed up. Make sure that some other program is not also using
that port. The most common culprit is some sort of Fax program, but
ActiveSync and other programs may cuse the same problem.

Yep. And that raises a question: can Active Sync be set up so that it
uses DMA but not COM ports?

Have checked that no other program is holding the port because I can open
and close the port from any other application (activeSync via com port is
also not enabled). Any other idea what could be wrong ?

Thanks

Sorry, I don't have any other concrete suggestions. This "should work," so
perhaps the emulator image is corrupted.
