Serial number generator

I need to creat or find a program that will allow me to print consectutive
numbers for serial numbers. I need to be able to start and stop at a
particular number and if I close the program be able to start where I lefe
off.

Can access easily do this or is there a better way?

Access can do this easily. It would help if we knew the context - do
you want to assign twenty numbers, or 20 million at a time? What are
you numbering, and do you need to keep track of information about each
one, or just the largest number used?
