Serial ata PCI card, that XP can find while installing with no extra driver?

I am looking for a serial ata pci card that does not need you to insert a
driver disk
while you are installing XP. Does such a card exists? Where ?

Thanks

Hmm, very interesting question. Could you name the reasons of the need?

SATA is newer than XP, so XP does not have the
drivers...don't know if Microsoft Update has the drivers,
but suspect that they do. Install your new SATA card while
on-line and get the drivers from update or web search.

XP will install an "most" Intel based SATA controllers since these are
supposed to simulate the standard IDE ports.

However, I believe that it can be possible to re-create (aka "slipstream"
drivers) the XP install CDs so that you "add" the serial ATA driver to the
install process.

Because a person who does not know much about computers must install the
serial ata card and install xp afterwards. The things other people said
about windows update is only AFTER you have installed XP. I al talking about
when you are on the first blue screen of XP installation where it says press
F6 to install other drivers....

I want to know if it is possible to avoid that step.

That is interesting to know as a possibility....

but this wont help in this situation..
thanks though.

From experience with building many AMD systems (I hate intel based systems)
you'll need to load SATA drivers when installing Windows. They'll all need a
driver disk or Windows won't see your SATA ports or the hard drives attached
to them. You're motherboard will see them and your RAID software on the
motherboard will see the arrays if any, but Windows won't.
Why are you looking to avoid that simple step though? It's pretty easy even
for a beginner.
