Serial ATA drives

How many SATA drives can you attach per channel please?
Is it possible to daisy-chain them as per parallel IDE drives?
Would I be able to run;
IDE CHAN 1
1xCDRW
1xDVD
IDE CHAN 2
2xIDE HDD
SATA CHAN
1xSATA HDD
....or do I have to sacrifice an IDE chan to the SATA?

That should be fine. The SATA bus and the IDE bus should be independant of
each other.

As to the question in the first line of this post: One.
