Seperating text within a cell

I downloaded a QuickBooks file into excel. One of the cells includes the
account number (4 digit charachter) a dot (spacer) and then the account name.
I can I break out the account number from the account name?

You can goto Tools | Text to Columns

when the wizard appears, choose delimmited by period.
