Separation of first and last name into 2 columns

I have a spreadsheet that holds a person's first and last
name in one single column. I'd like to separate that
column into two columns, one with the first name and one
with the last name. Is there a formula that does that?
(I'm assuming it would use the space between the first and
last name as a measuring stick). Thanks
