Sent email does not automatically send

I'm using Outlook 2000 for my email with aol. I have everything set up but
when I send an email it just sends it to the sent folder with out sending it.
Is there a way to set my account up that where when I it the send button it
sends it with out going to the send/recieve button??? I also use Outlook 2003
on another computer and it works fine, with hitting the send/recieve button.

Only the 2003 version can send/receive AOL mail.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if there was a way that u could set up to send
automatically or not, in outlook 2000. I know u can could do that in 2003.
