Sending mail

My windows mail for Vista receives fine but cannot send. How frustrating! I
get the following message.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Diet 50 Tuesday 8/18',
Account: 'Lisa's Mail', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have disabled McAfee e-mail scan and have it set up for a secure
connection. Please advise so I don't sit here all night beating my head
against the wall! Thanks in advance.

Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25...................... should be Port: 587
Follow this :
Tools > Accounts > click your account > Properties > Servers. under Outgoing
mail server, put a checkmark on " My server requires secure authentication "
Advance, in the Outgoing mail, change 25 to 587 >OK

Go to this link and double check the rest of your settings against the
instructions. The link says Outlook Express. It's ok, it also works in
Windows Mail :
