Sending Excel File as an Outlook Attachment

When I attach an Excel spreadsheet to an email using the outlook icon in
Excel to send I sometimes get an option to send as attachment or as imbedded
in the email. Other times the spreadsheet just goes ahead and imbeds in the
email. How do I set the option?

I suspect that it's because in the former case you're composing the message
in HTML format and in the latter case you're using Rich Text.
