sending emails/Mcafee Privacy Service

I cannot send or receive emails when I have McAfee
Privacy Service installed, even if it is disabled. I get
operation timed out error messages. I have uninstalled
and "clean installed it, but same result. I also have
McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall, but my emails work OK
with these.
McAfee says its Microsoft's problem. I have the same
problem with Outlook and with Outlook Express. My ISP is
certain the settings are OK.

Any ideas?

There seem to have been a number of post concerning certain McAfee 'extra'
features and this error It would appear, on the surface, to be a McAfee
problem - wait for an update?
