Sending Email from Inherited TraceListener Class

I get the following message when the SmtpMail.Send command tries to execute:

An unhandled exception of type 'System.Web.HttpException' occurred in
system.web.dll

Additional information: Could not access 'CDO.Message' object.

I am running vb.net 2003 Academic on Windows XP Professional. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
