Sending E-mails

Q

Question Boy

I wasn't 100% sure where to post the question as it is for an Access database
but relates somewhat to Outlook.

I have a client who solely uses a web version of Outlook. They do not have
any e-mail client on their PC. Can one send e-mail through the web version
of Outlook.

I know I can send e-mail using CDO, does this work with the web version of
Outlook as well? I am trying to avoid having to get their network/IT people
involved as much as possible to provide support or information.

Is there another alternative that I should consider?

Thank you,

QB

Do they host their own email or do they have an outside company hosting it?

To my knowledge you cannot automate sending emails via a web-based app as it
becomes a matter of manipulating the HTML supplied by the web-based app and
for that there are too many variables not to mention black-holes of missing
information on the how-to.

If they have a file server running Windows, I'd go with installing IIS as
IIS (Internet Information Service) can handle generating email. You'll
probably have to use CDO to actually create the emails.
