In third week with new Dell computer with Vista. 64bit machine. Got Windows
Mail up and able to send and receive emails but have not been able to send
emails with attachments of any kind. PDF, TIF, etc. Any suggestions?

Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

If that was not the problem, your antivirus may be interfering.
Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
For more information on why email scanning is bad, see
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Unchecked box and turned off scan of outgoing email and was able to send
small attachment. Will try original attachment that bombed. Thanks

Good to hear. Let us know if you have a problem with larger attachments.
