Sending attachments fron Outlook 2000 to Outlook Express 6

Our organization has a remote user that uses Outlook Express due to
limitations of the ISP. The problem is that we can't send attachments to this
user through Outlook 2000.The user just gets a blank email with no
attachment. We are running Exchange Server 2003 for our mail server. There
are no restrictions on outgoing mail at the server. We have tried sending in
Html and plain text with no success. The "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" setting in Outlook Express
has been unchecked. As a work around we are able to send the email with
attachment to my personal hotmail acct and then forward it to the user. The
attachment will go through in this manner. Also I have discovered that if I
send attachments through Outlook Web Access the attachments will go through
fine. The user has no problem getting attachments from people outside our
organization. The problem just seems to be between Outlook 2000 and Outlook
Express. All the latest updates have been installed for both clients. The OS
is W2K. The Isp says they don't block any attachments unless they are
detected as being viruses. The attachments are .doc, .xls ,and .pdf's. Any
help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

This will happen as long as you send the messages in Rich Text format, which
Outlook Express ignores. Send your message in Plain Text or HTML and
Outlook Express will handle it.

Have you checked Tools -> Options -> Security tab on the OE user to make sure
the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be
a virus" check box is clear?
