When I send a message to this newsgroup [via Outlook Express] I get a
message that many newsgroup participants may not be able to read HTML
messages. Is this correct?

Thank you,

Barry Karas

Hi

Yes it is true - I personally, for one, won't read any messages sent with
HTML.

Yes I agree that many people (including me) enable the 'Read all messages in
plain text' check box. So if you are sending messages with a lot of HTML,
the many might not be able to read it properly.

But you can easily change this. Click Tools > Options > Go to 'Send' tab >
At the bottom of the window where it says 'News Sending Format' select plain
text. This way all can read all you messages without any problem.

Thanks. It was a little different but I had no trouble figuring it
out.

P.S. My e-mail is also set to HTML but there doesn't seem to be an
issue there. Should I set it to plain text too? If so, will I be able
to ATTACH pictures [JPEGs, etc.]?

Hello,

If you send e-mail's in html the only thing that changes is that your client
will not put in any html codes when you send the message. So if you tend to
use html a lot then you might want to enable html. Otherwise it really
doesn't matter much.

You will be able to attach pictures (and other things) however, you will not
be able to use html tags to put picture 'inside' the message. For example
you can't use '<img src>' tag etc.
