Sendig e-mails with attachments erros out

Running Office Xp. Whe I try to send a new e-mail with a
few Excel attachments to several people I get an error
message and can't send the e-mail. I have to copy from
the e-mail to a new message then I'm able to send. Nay
clue? I have seen this several times and onlyy with Excel
as the attachments.
