Send-To as Attachment Error

Hi,

I work in a company with @60 users. All machines are configured identically,
except for a handful running Blackberry desktop manager 4.0 and a few others
running Expensable software (expense reporting program). I am the sole
adminsitrator and build all machines from a script. I am also the only person
who does updates on the machines.

Here is my problem. Three users, all with BB's get the following error
"Operation Failed" when using the Send-To as Attachment feature from any
office application.

Scenario:
User logs into Windows.
Opens Word/Excel/PowerPoint
Creates document and uses the Send-To as Attachment feature.
Attachment is delivered.
Look in Task Manager and there is a OUTLOOK.EXE process running.
Fire up Outlook.
Switch to Word
Send a second document using the Send-To feature.
Operation failed.
This fails because the original OUTLOOK.EXE process never closed after the
first attachment was sent.
After firing up outlook there are two OUTLOOK.EXE process' running, which is
causing the operation failed.
Close Outlook.
Kill the second OUTLOOK.EXE process
Can now send as attachment.

Second Scenario
User log into Windows.
Starts Outlook
Start Word/Excel/Powerpoint
User can Send-To as Attachment till their heart is content, or until they
close Outlook.

The common denominator between the three machines is the Blackberry Desktop
Manager software. However I have 25 other BB users who don't experience this
problem.

All computers are running Office 2003 SP1 with all the latest patches.
All computers are running Windows XP SP2 with all the latest patches.
All computers are running the same version of BB desktop manager software.

I tried the following with no luck.

Log as a different user on the problem machine. I tried with a account with
admin rights and regular user rights. The problem does not occur with a
different user logged on the same machine.

Logon the machine as the user expeienceing a problem.
Run the Office Save Settings Wizard.
Restore the Settings to a different computer.
Logon as the user with the problem.
Outlook does not hang this time.

This leads me to beleive it's not a problem with their Office settings.

I have yet to troubleshoot with regmon and filemon.

I have yet to try transferring WINXP settings to a new machine and logging
in as problem user.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot/resolve this issue is greatly
appreciated.

Unfortunetly it's only happening to 3 big wig computers.

Thanks.

Robert

The BB software keeps outlook loaded - as long as outlook doesn't close
cleanly, you'll continue to have this problem.

Blackberry Desktop Manager does not launch a Outlook process. It doesn't
matter if Desktop Manager is runing it still happens.

I really don't think that's the problem, if it were the 23 other BB users
would have the same problem. None of them do.
