Just a quick question, does windows mail automatically send/recieve on
startup. I have noticed that when i get to my inbox it has already downloaded
new emails.
 
You can configure it to do so if you wish:
Tools, Options, "Send and receive messages at startup".

Depends on whether or not that option is cheked in Tools | Options |
General. I beleve it is checked by default.
