I have an alias set-up and a colleague and I both recieve mail sent to that
address. How do I set that up in Outlook so that I can send and recieve from
the alias, while at the same time send and recive from my own e-mail address
wihtout mixing them up?

Not enough info to go on. Do you use Exchange? What version of Outlook? What
kind of email accounts?

OK. So far I am not on Exchange, although I will be soon. My colleague is.
We both use Outlook 2003 (11.5608 etc). My e-mail account is POP3. My
colleague is MAPI. We both have our individual e-mail address's, and then
the alias is set to both of us (i.e any mail sent to that address come to
both of us - a basic list I suppose) . I would like to send mail from that
account, and recieve the replies into a separate folder in my inbox... and
same for him. Cheers in advance :)

You can't do this yourself til you're on Exchange instead of POP, but if the
Exchange admin then sets you up with Send As rights to the distribution
group, you can use it in the From field in a new message.

As to inbound mail - set up a rule to move mail sent to that address to a
specific folder.

Create another POP account just like the first one, but exclude it from the
Send/Receive group. Set that account's address as the address you'd like to
use. When you send or reply to a message and you want that address to be
seen by the recipient, click the Accounts button in the compose window's
toolbar and specify that account.

To sort incoming mail, use a rule to check the recipient address and if it's
the shared one, put the message in another folder.
