I'd really like to have every message arrive in the inbox, but be moved
automatically according to a rule after it has been read or marked as read.
I cannot find any way to do this. It's difficult to navigate through my
extensive folder tree looking for unread messages forwarded there by rule.
Thanks for your help.

May depend on your version of OL
In OL2003, with Folder View open unread msgs are shown in whatever folder
they are in.
They are also shown in Favorite Folders
