Product: The Outlook that comes with Office 2007. (Help no longer as "about"
so I don't know where to find out the exact version numbers ... but that's
not the problem I'm reporting.

Problem: When I do Send/Receive, 14 tasks fire up. When there are errors, it
says the task completed with error. This usually happens with more that one
of the tasks. The Send/Receive Pane goes away before I can even look at the
information that might be on the error tab. How can I tell what went wrong?
Sometimes, it gets better on its own. Other times I have to shutdown my
computer and re-boot, just to get Outlook back on-line. Any advice would be
welcome

Look to the status bar ( right hand bottom corner) while you send receive.
YOu should see the send receive status (as send receive error - click ere) .
Click on the arrow and that should give you the error message.

If you still cant get it, go to Account settings. click repair and then
select the options to manually configure... DO a test account settings.. and
see what is happening,

By the way.. In Outlook 2007 the about option is still under the help
although the case is different with other programs like word

Thanks Arun,

I found the Version, etc. under help after a LEFT CLICK. I was doing RIGHT
CLICK when I couldn't find the about statements. Duh.

I clicked the lower right status bar message and the send/receive pane did
show up. But it disappeared again as soon as it was done for this cycle. I
started Send/Recieve again and then clicked the Thumb Tack at the lower right
of the s/r pane. This time, the pane stayed around after the mail gathering
cycle was complete. At the moment, the system is running flawlessly (as you
might expect when you're trying to catch in intermittent error) so I haven't
seen any actual error messages yet. I think I'm good to go. Thanks again.
