Send & Receive Emails Automatically

We have Win XP with Outlook 2000 and Norton Antivirus protection - please can
you tell me where I find the setting so we can send and receive emails
automatically without having to press the button each time. The only change
recently is to broadband.

Outlook- tools-options-mail setup-send/recieve-
then check "schedule a send/recieve every --"
fill in the time you want...

Many thanks for your reply but I do not have a Mail Setup option under Tools
and Options.

We have Outlook 2003 SP-3 Version number 9 build 6627. We have a 'Mail
Services' tab under Options rather than the 'Mail Delivery' tab. Some pc's
here have the Mail Services tab and others have the Mail delivery tab but
they are all the same version and build number - I can't understand why they
are different. Typically the pc we are having problems with is the one with
the Mail Services tab - it used to send and receive automatically but
recently it has stopped working and we can't understand why.

We have Outlook 2003 SP-3 Version number 9 build 6627.

Outlook 2003 doesn't have an SP3 and is version 11. Version 9 is Outlook
2000 and it does have an SP3.

We have a

Further proof you're using Outlook 2000 and not 2003.

Yes your quite correct it is Outlook 2000 not 2003 (typo).

I have since discovered that the Mail Delivery and Mail Services tabs appear
under options depending on how Outlook is set up - Internet or workgroup.
However, this does not explain why suddenly Outlook 2000 has suddenley
stopped sending and receiving automatically when it has been fine before.

Well, I don't have OL 2000 available right now and I don't recall the menus
well enough to tell you where to start looking, but it may have to do with
the send/receive settings. See if CTRL-ALT-S brings up a send/receive
dialogue. If not, check on Tools>Options>Mail Setup for a Send/Receive
button.
