send receive display dialog

hi

i seem to have a problem with the send receive dialog box in outlook 2003, i
have the 'do not show this dialog box during send and receive' checked so
that every ten minutes when it is scheduled it operates in the background,
but it pops up on my screen on the top of my window and remains until
completed, where i have to close it.

can anybody offer me any ideas on how to prevent this?

Enable the status bar (View>Status Bar) and the Progress box should not be
displayed.

thanks brian,

i do already have the status bar viewed, but you did give me a hint to what
it may have been. i had the 'hide when minimised' option checked which seems
to be causing the problem, i have now discovered that when i uncheck this
option, outlook sends and receives my mail completely unnoticed.
