Send Object to e-mail

We have 5 networked computers, all using Access97. Each
computer has the same .mdb program installed on it and are
all linked to a common database. One of the functions I
put in it is to use SendObject to start an e-mail. This
works perfectly on 4 of the machines but on one I get the
message "The command or action SendObject isn't available
now." I checked the references and they appear correct.
Each SendObject macro is identical to the other 4
computers. Any ideas on what else to check? Thanks in
advance, Ceedy

Hi,

Have you had any joy with resolving this?I have a similar
problem using the SendObject command. This is essentially
a code script for the SendTo function available from the
file menu I'm guessing and that menu is also greyed-out.
Using the windows send to mail recipient function does,
however, behave as it should. All I'm aiming to do is
export some data from Access 2003 to Outlook Express in
Excel format. However, get this, I have seemingly
identical machines where the macro works on one and not
the other! Just wondered if you'd had any luck or advise
on this topic.

Cheers.

I'm afraid no one has responded. I kept hoping one of the
clear geniuses like Steve Shapel, Ken Snell or Douglas J.
Steele might see it but I'm not that lucky. I hope you
find a solution. Ceedy

Since your Access application works fine on 4 of 5 computers, my suspicion
is that the problem lies somewhere with the email setup and configuration on
that fifth computer. Your MAPI-compliant email client software must be
correctly installed and registered in Windows for SendObject to be able to
use it to create a new mail message. The first and simplest thing to check
is Control Panel|Internet Options|Programs to determine whether a default
email client has been selected. After that, you need to make sure that the
default email client on the non-working computer is exactly the same as to
version, and service patches, etc., as that found on one of the working
computers. A re-install of the email client may be necessary.

Cheryl, thank you so much for responding. I did check
some of your ideas but not all. I will do that.
