In exchange, is there a way to send a copy of a message directly to a mail
folder? (In Unix I did this by putting, in the cc list, the name of the
folder preceded by "+"; this saves the step of cc'ing yourself and then
moving to a folder.)

If I can tell my boss how to do this, I'm golden. Please help.

Only to mail-enabled public folders, not to mailbox folders.

You can write a "rule" in rules wizard to have a copy of specified messages
sent to another mail folder. You'll find Rules under the Tools menu.

But is there a way to do it for a specific message. That is, when I use the
rules function, I have to set a rule for all messages meeting whatever
criteria I set. What would be helpful would be to enter a command or set a
rule for the message I'm creating (as a new message or a reply) that would
send it (and it alone) to a certain folder. For instance, I'm writing a
response to a colleague about project X. I want that message to go to the
project X folder. I don't, however, want every message to that colleague to
go to the project X folder, or every project X message to go to the project X
folder, just that one. Any way to finesse that? It seems cumbersome to go
through the whole rules process for one email.
