My thoughts... Any system with "Integrated Graphics" isn't going to cut it
when the first thing you mention is playing games. Unfortunately, that's
probably going to mean bumping up your price.

I've ordered from www.tigerdirect.ca (the Canadian version), and had
reasonable luck with them. I've heard bad/not good from the US version.
You might want to also check out www.newegg.com for some options.

I agree with Clint, stay away from TigerDirect. I also agree about avoiding
integrated graphics. Is there any chance you could upgrade your existing PC
with a better processor and a good graphics card? Tell us about the
computer you have now. What's the brand and model?

I used to sell for the Corporate Division of TigerDirect and still buy
from them. They aren't perfect, but none of them are. I think they are
pretty good and a heck of a lot of other people do too - or they
wouldn't be doing as well as they are.

I have also bought from Newegg.com on occasion. The key thing to
remember about these big resellers is what they are good for. If you are
looking for handholding, consulting, or recommendations they are not for
you. If you know exactly what you want, they can be very good with good
prices. They are setup to take returns on anything defective, but aren't
setup for people who want to try out things and return just because it
wasn't exactly what they thought it was.

So, do your homework before ordering from any of these companies and you
should be happy with them. If you start expecting more than they are
setup to handle, you probably won't be happy.

However, I still buy from TigerDirect whenever they have what I want. I
think that says something from someone who was an insider and saw
exactly how they operated.

Hello, I am 13 years old and am trying to find a computer that's
suitable for playing games such as Counter-Strike and then doing stuff
like homework. I currently have a 2.4GHZ Celeron and need a faster
computer... here is the link for where I am buying it from
(TigerDirect)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1461818&CatId=0
Is it worth it and will a Sempron quench my needs?

A 2.4GHz Celeron is more than good enough for the original
Counterstrike! A 1GHz Celeron should run Counterstrike without any
problems, however you probably will need a better graphics card.

A Geforce 4 MX440 is good enough for Counterstrike. I've run
Counterstrike on both my machines with a Geforce 4 MX card. One is a
1GHz Via C3, and the other is an Athlon XP 1700+ (1467MHz). My Athlon
was only running at about 44% when running CS, so I wouldn't gain
anything from a faster processor. The C3 for some reason only runs at
22% for the same rate which is very strange!

Get a graphics card instead! 2.4GHz Celeron is a lot better than my
main machine!
