Selective Startup Question

I have an IBM Thinkpad T42p and have a question about a startup task. There
is a file called S3tray.exe which starts up when XP starts up. I was just
wondering if anyone knows what this is? I don't think it's any spy/mal ware
because the computer is fine, just wondering if it can be shut off?

It's associated with S3 Graphics card utility, and looks like an optional
item
