Hello,

I have been disappointed that the Vista Import Wizard does not allow
the user to select the pictures to import from a camera.

Has anyone found a 3rd party app that can do what the XP Import Wizard
did so easily?

Is MS considering adding the feature with SP1?

TIA

Bill

I was surprised too that they removed this feature. BTW you can go in
Computer or Explorer and the camera will display as a removable device.
There you can copy/cut and paste the pictures you want to transfer.

Not many people use Windows systems for that. Try Picasa 2 from Google. Its
free. Or get a good program like Photoshop Elements.

Use windows explorer if you must selectively import pictures.

I personally find getting them all off my capture card to my hard
drive THEN manipulating them to my specs much easier.

But yes, most dedicated graphic viewers/organizers/editors will have
the (Selective Import Picture) function.

Just google and download a trial version of your choosing.

There are to many options to recommend unless your more specific on
your actual needs and how much your willing to spend.

start here.
on the cheap (free editor/viewer) ifranview and Picasa

mid price range (editor) Paint Shop Pro, Adobe photoshop elements
high end (editor) Adobe Photoshop

my personal fav. (organizer/viewer/very basic editor) ACDSee

ill second the motion by saying if ur looking for a editor / importer
Photoshop elements 5.0 is well worth the 99 bucks
great program
