Hello Everyone,

I have been searching for awhile now to find an answer..but with n
luck.

My question:
I have 2 years of data broken down by month (columns) and manufacturin
facility (2-9 rows)..each cell represents a revenue. My boss has aske
me to give him the ability to set the start month and end month an
only that data is shown....

Here is how it is laid out:

Jan 04|Feb04|Mar04|Apr04|etc...
Fab1
Fab2
Fab3
Fab4
Fab5
Fab6
Fab7

I use a pivot table to get this format, since the initial data is muc
more complicated...any ideas how I could provide something so if m
boss only wants to see Feb04 through Apr04, he can??

Your help is appreciated!!

Cheers,
Mat

If this is in a pivot table he can go to the months header and select only
the months he wants. If by chance these are also quarters that are being
looked at then he could right-click on the same header and select 'Group'
and change the displayed grouping to 'Quarters'.

As these are months, there can only be twelve although if you are showing
years there could be many more. If this is the case XL XP and 2003 added a
'Select all' feature in the pivot table header drop-down. This would mean
he could click it to select all, click again to deselect all and then select
the three, etc he wanted.

try url tushar-mehta.com ----dynamic charts link and in that item no. 3
which gives
quote
3) Graph only a part of a large data set (specify starting point and number
of entries to show)

An example of this is a chart that extracts and displays only a portion of
the information out of a large collection of data. The example on the right
graphs four months of data starting with month 1. These choices are
controlled by the values in the cells labeled 'Starting from' and 'Number to
show' (cells C1 and C2, respectively, in the example).' etc etc.
