Selecting A cell...

I am going crazy! I recently got Office 07 on my computer...it was working
fine...now for some reason when I am working in excel...when I go to click on
a cell, it will select the cell I want AND the adjoining two or three cells
(typically three). I have tried everything that was even CLOSE that has been
talked about on this thread and I can't for the life of me figure out how to
get the dumb program to let me click on just ONE cell at a time.

The odd thing...it doesn't do it ALL the time...just MOST of the time. Some
times it works just fine...I can click on a cell outside of the work I am
doing, like on another page, and it will work just fine...then I go back to
where I am working and it selects multiple cells again.

Please help!

Pressing F8 engages multiple cell selection. Press F8 again to
disable...or, you should just be able to press Esc and continue working.

Does it do it using the arrows on the keyboard as well?
Maybe some is playing a joke on you and has added some code to your
personal.xls workbook that is extending the selection any time a cell is
selected.

It does not seem to do it when I use the arrows...although I think trying
that brought something to light...it seems to be that the cell I am trying to
click on is one that was reduced in size...so it is narrower. It still
doesn't explain why it is selecting three and four sometimes!?

She is definitely not crazy. I am experiencing the exact same problem..while
selecting a cell it randomly selects three or four cells at a time...but not
all cells and not all the time...help!
