Selected cells shadding Invisible.

When I select rows and columns in Excel, the selected cells are too feint to
see clearly (much darker in previous releases). Is there a way of darkening
the default selected cells shading? I'm not referring to Fill colours and
patters - just the colour/shading used when cells are selected, and want
this setting as default for all my workbooks and new Excel files. Thanks

I have similar problem with the color schemes myself. Have you tried
changing the default color scheme to see if that helps. There are 3
available: Blue (default), Silver and Black.
Office Button >> Excel Options >> Popular >> Color Scheme drop down list.

Ya, I have tried that but nothing works, its very annoying and hard to get
help from Microsoft without paying. I feel like I wasted my money on new
version.

Thanks Latham, I appreciate your help, but I already tried that too. I am
desperately searching for the solution and I came across this yesterday. I
tried that but it doesnot do the job, It only gives two lines for marking the
boundary but by holding Ctrl key and shading different cells is really
important when different selection of cells have unique result. But looking
at the result and comming back to complex work sheet, its impossible to know
which cells are selected, due to faded or invisible selection. Its the same
as you hold key to select the text and you cant see what text has been
selected.

That's about all I know to try to do. I've seen similar complaints before,
and as I said, it's one of my own also. I also sometimes have a problem
identifying the boundaries of various 2007 Office applications if I have
several open, but not full sized - the pastel shades just blend into one
another. I have put in a suggestion to the Excel group that they look at
this and perhaps add another color scheme ("classic"?) to help alleviate the
problems, and I pointed to your original post here as an example of the
problem some people are having with it as it now stands.

You can toss my hat in the ring...I've spent almost all day unsuccessfully
looking for fixes/workarounds to this invisible highlight issue (on my
monitor, the highlighted cells are exactly the same color as the
un-highlighted cells). I have no choice but to upgrade to XL2007 and I'll be
a complete wreck if this problem doesn't get addressed. I highlight
non-contiguous cells regularly... Thanks for your efforts so far, much
appreciated!!!
