My guess is your are taking about Excel 2007. Other have a similar problem.
It seems to be related to graphics card / monitor. I have no problem on my
four boxes so I cannot experiment. Let's hope SP2 solves this problem.
Meanwhile try right clicking desktop, opening Properties and experiment with
the Appearance settings
