Select Filter Command Button in Run Time Version

I have developed a database in Access 97 and converted it to 2003 on a
corporate (HMRC) version of the XP platform which filters records to select
for testing scripts & triggers. I have the full Access development edition on
my workstation but distribute my database to users with only the Run Time
version of Access on their workstations. I have a form in my application
which has a simple custom toolbar with two buttons on it: Select Filter &
Toggle Filter. The toolbar allows the users to use the Filter by Form feature
of Access to filter a recordset. E.g. Click Select Filter > enter the
criteria on the form > Click Toggle Filter button to apply the filter
criteria. This works fine on my version of Access but does not work in the
run time version. This feature previously worked for the users in Access 97
on the Windows NT 4.0 platform although the Toggle Filter button was then
called the Apply Filter button with 97. When I click the Select Filter button
in the run time version nothing happens. I do not receive any error messages
nor any indication that the program has reacted in any way. I have not
programmed the filter buttons and they are using inbuilt an feature of
Access. Why do my buttons react differently in the run time version & what is
the solution please? Many thanks.

I'm sorry to have to tell you that the inability to use the built-in
filter-by-form feature is one of the documented limitations of the run-time.
You have to create your own custom filtering functionality for run-time
apps.
