seeing 'document write' or java script

I'm using windows xp, on certain web pages that I go to
I've been seeing: ');document.write(");//_ _> it has
either been on the right hand side or across the top of
the page. Also another problem is I'm seeing on some
sites I come to: you must have a java script enabled
browser to view this page. I have not had this problem
in this past, can someone help me fix this situation.

Have you got a popup stopper or proxomitron or anything similar? Try
changing it's settings or temporarily turn it off to see if that makes a
difference.
