I have a folder (folder called "Students 2003") with sub-folders for earch
person in the group. There is app. 70 persons in this folder. I also have a
folder "Students 2004" - and would create many more.

Some of these persons are spokes-person for certain activities.

I would then like to have a folder called "spokes persons" - and in that
folder I could access the folders of each spokes person. The person folder
should however be the "same" as the folder in "Students 2003" or "Students
2004".

So I want to be able to access the same information through different folders.

How do I do that?

You can use DFS to create a logical view of the folders, by making a link to
each folder you want in the Spokespersons folder.
Otherwise, if you want a matrix of data like that, it sounds like a database
application of some sort: Access, Lotus Notes, Excel.

OK... and what is DFS?

If you could explain how exactly I achieve this, it would be very helpful.

You're probably better off organizing the folders properly, instead
of creating an elaborate matrix of logical views. E.g.:

C:\Students 2003
Spokespersons
<Student 1>
<Student 2>
etc.
<Non-spokesperson Student 1>
<Non-spokesperson Student 2>
etc.

Well - the issue is that students are entered and accessed in general. Some
are at some point becoming spokesperson. They are then accessed more
frequently, and therefore it would be nice just to be able to see the
spokespersons in a folder of their own instead of having to find them among
the students. The spokespersons should however still also be in the "student"
folder.

It is just a question of what is possible - if it is - then I would
appreciate to get to know how - and in a little more detailed way than just
the term "DSF" which just leaves me completely clueless.

DFS = Distributed File System. Have a look in the MS knowledgebase to get
the general idea, then any specific questions someone will be pleased to
help,

Create an empty "Spokespersons" folders.

Use Explorer to select the spokespersons from the 2003
folder. Use the RIGHT mouse button to drag them from
the 2003 folder and drop them on the Spokespersons folder.
When you release the mouse to do the drop, you will get
a context menu. Select "Create Shortcut(s) here".

Repeat for the 2004 folder.

Good idea!
