Security warning

Hi NG,

Outlook 2007 (test version) on Windows XP Prof.

I have created a template (*.oft). When I try to open it, I always get a
security warning [1] that tells me that the file location is potentially
unsure.
Is there a way to get rid of this warnig resp. add the path
"C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application
Datas\Microsoft\Templates" to the trustable file locations as I can do
it in Word 2007?

How are you opening that file? Does it contain any custom fields?

File | New | Form

the security warning does not appear.

No. Only the fields "To" and "Bcc", as well as the subject-line and the
body are filled.

That's the issue. There is no way to change that new behavior in Outlook 2007. You may be happier opening it from a desktop shortcut.

Thank you very much for your response. But where is the difference
opening the template via shortcut in the toolbar instead of opening it
via file menu resp. desktop shortcut?

I asked the same question and didn't get an answer that explained the difference. If you have a retail version of Office/Outlook 2007, I suggest that you file a support incident on this issue. This is the best way to let Microsoft know that there's an issue with the application. Unlimited support for Office/Outlook 2007 is free for the first 90 days after activation. I have not ;-). At the moment I am using only a test version. If I ought
to upgrade after the testing period I will buy a systembuilder version
as long as available.

I will suggest this users in the german Outlook newsgroup which have the
same issue with an already activated retail version ;-)
