Security Update CD caused CD/RW problem

I installed the Microsoft Security Update February 2004 CD
on a machine using Windows 2000 Professional O.S. that is
not connected to the internet. I installed Service Pack 4
from the CD as well. Now my computer will not recognize
when I have a rewriteable CD in my CD/RW. I can read from
the CD without any problem. Is there something in the
security that goofed me up and how can I correct it?

Problem solved by removing Service Pack 4 and

reinstalling my Roxio software. Initially reinstalling
the Roxio software did not correct problem.
