Hi, all,

NTFS enables NT4 and 2000 a security tab in the folder/file properties, but
I don't find it in XP pro/home. Is there a way to get it back? Thanks

How Do I Get the Security tab in Folder Properties?

Andrew,

You need to disable Simple File Sharing [in "Folder Options" View menu]. This enables advanced file security and the "Security" tab is displayed. In XP Home, to see the security tab, login to Safe Mode.

Thanks, but I am so disappointed with HOME unable to set security unless in
Safe mode. Is there a way to enforce Home to display the security tab?

Thanks, but this is still the third party application. I expect Home itself
can do that.

I think there is a goof in link. The link for the tip on how to do it
in XP Home without entering safe mode is the same as that very page...in
other words it just reloads the same page.

Wesley;
Doug just fixed it, try it again,you may need to refresh the page.

Hey, that is some impressive turn-around time. Kudos folks! :)

Jupiter;
Thank you. Tried it again and it's fixed. That Doug is some guy, huh?

Your welcome and a Thank you from Doug.
He fixed the link within seconds once I informed him.

Jupiter;
I hate making mistakes. I like to find them myself, before others do.
Alas, that's impossible.
We're all human. Like the guy said, "I screwed up, I thought I made a mistake,
but I didn't." :o)

Yes, this was a problem, but the link was fixed in the last day or two.

And again, fixed quite speedily to boot! :)
